‘Thresholds’

Saso & Kevin Corcoran

In November 2019, we brought this album to life in Dublin’s beautiful Smock Alley Theatre, assisted by the wonderful Glasshouse Ensemble.

It was an extremely rewarding journey diving into the scores for this music and reimagining these pieces in a new context. I wanted to bridge the gap between synthetic textures and organic sound in an immersive way and so we had constant interplay between the acoustic strings and piano and the array of synths and effects pedals on stage, with moments of free improvisation in between the structured music.

My collaborative album with Saso is out in the world, ready to be poured into your ears.

This was an experiment in sound. We combined soft, felted piano with rich synth and string textures and dove deep into the conceptualisation of life and death.

I am very proud of this music.

Soft Set Sundays

Every Sunday for 38 weeks, I posted a piano improvisation video to my Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. They were explorations, meditations and learning experiences. I recently released the first 10 as an album called ‘Soft Set Sundays, Vol. 1’, which you can find anywhere you listen to music.
